Alex Blood & The Diggers

Alex Blood & The Diggers are a genre mashing band with a plot under their belt, and not just one for growing veg in. Their unique blend of punk, rock, rap and reggae, has forged a sound described as “impossible to pigeonhole”

Lyrical wit reminiscent of the classic punk poets comes mixed with dance floor filling grooves from classic genres, laced with catchy hooks and big beats.

In 2016 the Diggers supported UK legend Maverick Sabre, rising folk-punk band Ferocious Dog and held down main stage slots at festivals.  Previous gigs include support for 2tone legends The Beat, Dreadzone and Jerry Dammers of The Specials. Recently headlining Night & Day in Manchester and Hootananny in Brixton as well as smashing festivals such as BoomTown Fair and YNOT, the Diggers are receiving rave reviews for their energetic and entertaining live and acoustic sets.

Formed by lyricist Alex Blood (whose formative years as a hip hop MC saw him work with international artists Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse, as well as touring the UK with Jay-Z) the Diggers are a 6 piece outfit making their live shows a stage filling spectacle comprised of experienced players who can whip up the crowd from track 1 to the finale.  They are currently building on the strong fan base they have created through gigging and promoting their first 2 EP’s by getting ready to release their debut album project in 2017.  BBC Introducing and 6Music have already supported recent material so 2017 looks set to launch the band out of the underground and onto the radar of the mainstream.

Alex Blood & The Diggers are gaining national exposure, rave reviews and an allegiance of fans. The uprising is growing stronger, question is though; can you dig it?
